Hunting and fishing in Idaho’s Frank Church Wilderness and the Salmon River Mountains for elk, mule deer, bear, and lion is something our families have been doing since the 1950’s. We take our job serious. Providinga quality experience is of the utmost importance to us. Our equipment is kept in good working condition along with our forty head of riding horses and pack mules.
The wilderness experience that Mile High has to offer can not be beat and there is nowhere that has the scenery and primitiveness that this wilderness has to offer. We take our share of mature elk, deer, black bear, mountain lion, moose, and bighorn sheep. We also catch some nice trout and usually plenty of them. Our riding animals are gentle and our guides are professionals. We do everything we can to make your stay with us as enjoyable and successful as possible. Although we operate out of tents, we believe you will find it very
comfortable. With large wall tents, cots, foam pads, wood stoves, floors, and a shower, you will feel right at home in your wilderness setting.
Mile High operates out of two areas. One is in the center of the Frank Church & the other borders the Frank. Each area has advantages & disadvantages. With the wilderness area, all hunts are dependant on the air taxi to shuttlehunters. Airplanes can not fly bad weather but once you get into the wilderness and away from the airstrip, you seldom see other hunters. The Front Range area has better access and is more comfortable for our hunters. If you are afraid of flying on small airplanes and you like your creature comforts, this hunt is for you.
We run this business with the help or our two small children, Charlie and Clay. We spend about six months out of the year in the “backcountry”. In the off season, we live in Challis and can be reached at our home & office most of the time. Brenda’s mother, Chris, helps in the office while we are out.
